Dr. J.P. Auffret, George Mason University, was elected the third president of the International Academy of the CIO at the 12th IAC Annual Conference in Moscow in October 2017 taking office in January 2018. Professor Auffret follows Professor Toshio Obi, Waseda University, IAC president from 2007 through 2017 and Dr. Pairasch Thajchayapong, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Thailand. Dr. Auffret noted the “tremendous honor and responsibility and am looking forward to working with IAC members and chapters around the world and continuing and building upon the initiatives of IACs first twelve years including the Waseda – IAC annual digital government rankings, IAC CIO and Digital Innovation Journal, IAC Annual Conference, IAC CIO Accreditation program, CIO education network and research on topics such as ICT and ageing society and Smart Cities. In addition, we are looking forward to engaging with new members and chapters including through new IAC Regional Councils and to working with the many IAC partners and partner organizations.”
