Thailand: Driving AI Innovation for Sustainable Growth

Thailand is taking significant strides toward becoming a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, with strong support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and Thammasat University.

Ms Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of MHESI, officially opened the IACIO 2024 Annual Conference. Themed “AI Applications and Transformation”, the event brought together experts from various fields to discuss AI’s potential in transforming business models across multiple industries.

The conference was a collaborative effort between the College of Innovation at Thammasat University (CITU) and the International Academy of CIO (IACIO). The event served as a platform for fostering partnerships and knowledge exchange, focusing on harnessing AI to drive sustainable development and economic growth in Thailand.

Key figures in attendance included Mr Supachai Jaisamut, Assistant to the Minister of MHESI, Ms Suchada Sang Tanthrap, Secretary to the Minister, Professor Dr Supasawat Chachawal, President of Thammasat University and Dr Jean-Pierre Auffret, Chairman of IACIO.

During her keynote address, Ms Supamas highlighted the critical role of collaboration between the government, private sector, and academic institutions in advancing AI technology in Thailand.
